A brief love letter to...you.

I must say I thought I would be much better at this "blog" thing than I have so far proved. With that being said, my apologies to whom it may concern.
The second semester of my senior year has already started and with that in mind (and this really being my first "post-post), I would like to start off on the topic of love.
Just two weeks ago another Valentine's day came and went, and me, being much too eager about love in the first place- was head over heels about the holiday once more. I've never understood why people have chosen to gang up on Saint Valentine and I will be the first to say; "I love you Mr. Valentine".  There is so much love in your world it's almost nauseating and not enough people recognize it and become vulnerable with it.
I myself have never had Boyfriend during the holiday nor have I ever really had a breathtaking, soul-consuming, successful relationship, but I refuse to let that determine how I view and accept the other loves in my life.
I'm not writing this little blurb to say that I've got everything figured out about love and "I don't need no man", because I would love to have a "love" just as much as the next girl. I am writing it in the hopes that in the next few months we can all begin to acknowledge what is going on around us and, as I said, become vulnerable and love outwardly

"Distant luxuries, distant dreams."
Since I'm new here, It might be good to tell you a little about myself and what I hope to gain through this- somewhat frivolous- little blog.
To start, I think it's safe to say I'm a bit of an escapist -- Hence the title of this blog, the qoute at the top of this post, and even the URL--, regardless, I am still much too serious/conscientious for my own good. To explain this I would say that at a mere seventeen years old I have grown up surrounded by people who have helped me grow into an artistic, honest, strong and well-guided young women. As these short years have passed however, I've continued to be fascinated with what my life could be after high school and college.  So, as my junior year of high school is gently coming to a close, there seems to be no better time for me to start a blog about the beginning of my journey beyond my past and towards the life I have always dreamed of, and have been working towards my whole school career.
Music, teenage drama, family, school, and work are all topics to come your way so if the trials and tribulations of my senior year happen to be at all interesting, stay tuned.
